At the Intersection of AI and Medicine

Artificial intelligence is no longer the future of healthcare — it is becoming an integral part of its present. And nowhere was that more evident than at the Health to the Power of AI Conclave 2026, held at the JW Marriott, Bengaluru.

Over two remarkable days, I had the privilege of being part of this event wearing three hats — as a Panelist, a Strategic Advisor, and a Delegate. The conclave brought together an inspiring mix of clinicians, healthcare leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and technology experts — all united by one central question:

How can AI meaningfully improve patient care while preserving the human touch?

It was energising to be in a room where that question wasn't just being asked — it was being answered, debated, and built upon, session after session.

Speaking as a Panelist

As a panelist, I shared my perspective from nearly three decades in laboratory medicine and healthcare leadership. My message was straightforward: AI should not replace clinical judgment — it should amplify it.

The greatest opportunities lie at the intersection of intelligent technology and experienced clinicians. When those two things work together, we can deliver healthcare that is faster, safer, and far more equitable — especially for patients in tier 2 and tier 3 cities who have had unequal access to specialist expertise.

What struck me most was the quality of questions from the floor. The conversation has moved from "should we adopt AI?" to "how do we do it well?" — and that shift matters enormously.

As a Strategic Advisor and Delegate

As a Strategic Advisor, it was genuinely exciting to engage with organisations building AI-driven solutions across diagnostics, pathology, imaging, workflow automation, predictive analytics, and operational efficiency.

The conversations reinforced something I've come to believe deeply: technology alone does not transform healthcare. Transformation happens when innovation is thoughtfully integrated into clinical practice — supported by governance, ethics, quality systems, and continuous education.

And as a Delegate, every session sparked new possibilities, reminding me that we are only at the very beginning of AI's journey in medicine.

What impressed me most throughout the event was the collaborative spirit in the room. The future of healthcare will not be built by clinicians, engineers, or entrepreneurs working in silos. It will emerge through partnerships — where medical expertise and technological innovation grow together, each sharpening the other.

I want to congratulate the Global Healthcare Academy (GHA) and the entire organizing team for curating an outstanding event that connected ideas with implementation, and vision with action.

I return inspired — with new insights, meaningful connections, and a renewed sense of purpose to contribute to the responsible adoption of AI in diagnostics and healthcare leadership.

The future belongs not to those who fear AI — but to those who learn to use it wisely, ethically, and compassionately.
